Stabbing at Orange County High School

A teenage boy was stabbed during a fight in front of Bolsa Grande High School Tuesday.

Garden Grove firefighters responding to a call of an athlete suffering an asthma attack saw the fight and called police about 5:35 p.m., police Lt. Jeff Nightengale said.

About five to seven juveniles were fighting and one of them who is about 17 years old was stabbed, Nightengale said. The wound was not considered life-threatening, he added.

"Initially we thought the victim was a current student, but he's not a current student," Nightengale said.

Some of the suspects may be former students of the high school, Nightengale said.

"It happened on the school grounds, but it has nothing to do with the school or school activity,'' Nightengale said.

Police were still trying to determine tonight what might have started the fight, Nightengale said.
