Two major theater chains are canceling a documentary because of the near riot this week in Hollywood, according to reports.
Police in riot gear were called to Hollywood Boulevard Wednesday night to break up a big crowd that formed near Grauman's Chinese Theater.
That's where the documentary called "The Electric Daisy Carnival Experience" was premiering. The film documents the controversial rave parties called "The Electric Daisy Carnivals."
A popular Disc Jockey tweeted that there would be a block party near the theater. When fans got there, and realized the premiere was by invitation only, things got out of hand.
Now, Regal and AMC Theaters have apparently decided not to show the documentary at this time. It's still scheduled to open nationwide for a single night next week.
Insomniac Events, which promoted the Electric Daisy Carnival, expressed disappointment that the film would get less distribution because of what it called "an unaffiliated block party."
