Three men were injured Monday when a scissor-lift scaffold fell at the Glendale Galleria.
The lift was extended when it toppled about 20 feet at about 8:30 a.m. at Broadway and Orange Street, according to a Glendale police sergeant. Streets were closed in the area during an investigation, he said.
The workers were removing dirt from flower boxes on the street side of the second floor of a building at the shopping mall when the lift toppled, authorities said. Police described the injuries as "moderate to critical," according to the Glendale News Press.
Police said the scissor-lift machinery apparently was rated for two people, but three men were working on it when it fell.
