A man who barricaded himself inside a building in Harvard Heights, south of Koreatown, surrendered to police Saturday after a more than eight-hour standoff.
At about 10:12 a.m., police were called to the scene at the 1500 block of South Hobart Boulevard for a welfare check where they found a man armed with a handgun.
SWAT officers were dispatched to the scene and the standoff continued until about 6:25 p.m.
No further details have been released.
