A man was killed Friday night in what Pomona police believe was a drug-and/or gang-related shooting.
Officers responded about 7:35 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of East Pasadena Street, according to the Pomona Police Department.
"The adult male victim was transported to a local hospital but eventually succumbed to his injuries," according to a police statement. "We are actively working the scene to obtain additional information and interview potential witnesses."
PPD Chief Michael Olivieri tweeted about 10 p.m. that a preliminary investigation determined "the incident may be drug and/or gang related."
The department's Major Crimes Task Force and Homicide Detectives investigated the shooting, Olivieri said.
