A Los Angeles man was arrested when deputies busted a large-scale marijuana grow in Jurupa Valley, sheriff's officials said Saturday.
Deputies served a search warrant at about 9 a.m. Friday at a home in the 11000 block of Sunstone Court and discovered 1,700 marijuana plants with an estimated full-harvest street value of $3.4 million, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's officials also alleged that $21,782 worth of utilities were stolen and used for the indoor marijuana cultivation operation.
Yu Zheng, 32, was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation and felony theft of utilities.
He remained behind bars in lieu of $22,000 bail.
Jurupa Valley code enforcement officers also opened an investigation into various possible building code violations at the property.
