Despite President Donald Trump’s recent attacks on Arnold Schwarzenegger, the "Terminator" star and former "Celebrity Apprentice" host believes there may be a deeper reason behind all the apparent animosity.
“I think he’s in love with me,” Schwarzenegger said on SiriusXM’s “The Michael Smerconish Program” on Tuesday.
While Smerconish followed up with a laugh, Schwarzenegger didn’t crack a smile on the subject.
Trump tweeted out on March 4 that the former governor and actor was fired from “Celebrity Apprentice” due to his “bad (pathetic) ratings.” That tweet was in direct response to Schwarzenegger’s leaving the show, which was announced last week.
“I loved every second of working with NBC and Mark Burnett,” Schwarzenegger said in a statement. “Everyone — from the celebrities to the crew to the marketing department — was a straight 10, and I would absolutely work with all of them again on a show that doesn’t have this baggage.”
The “baggage” he was likely referring to was Trump, who has repeatedly mocked the show's ratings since his departure.
