Black Bear Found Hiding Inside Closet in Montana Home

The bear was eventually tranquilized with the assistance of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

A black bear was found hiding inside a closet inside a Montana home Friday morning, authorities shared.

The local county sheriff's office received a call around 5:45 a.m.of a bear stuck inside a home up Butler Creek, which is north of Missoula, according to the office's Facebook page. When deputies arrived, they said they found that the bear had opened a door and somehow managed to deadbolt the door from inside.

After being unable to leave, the bear began ripping the room apart but apparently got tired and climbed up into a closet to take a nap, the Missoula County Sheriff's Office said.

"When deputies knocked on the window, the bear was not the least bit impressed," the sheriff's office wrote on social media. "He slowly stretched, yawned and, unamused, looked toward the door. Eventually, deputies were able to unlock the door in hopes he would hop down and leave. However, their attempts were only met with more big bear yawns."

The bear was eventually tranquilized with the assistance of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
