Officer Suspended for Calling Michael Brown Memorial “Trash”

A Ferguson, Missouri, police spokesman has been suspended without pay pending an internal investigation after he allegedly referred to a memorial for Michael Brown as a "pile of trash in the middle of the street," NBC News reported. Officer Timothy Zoll initially denied making the comments, which appeared in a Washington Post article, but later admitted to it. The memorial, a collection of stuffed animals and other tokens, was driven over and scattered Friday night in what some say was an intentionally malicious act. It has since been rebuilt.
