For Ferguson police officers, protesters and their families, fear is the common denominator ahead of the announcement of a grand jury's decision whether to indict police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of unarmed black teen Michael Brown. “For the first time since living here, we feel unwelcome,” said Ferguson resident Jamie Howard, whose husband, Robert, is a police officer in a nearby town. Another police officer, who is black, said that “people don’t trust law enforcement" in the wake of Brown's death. But some activists, like D. Hampton, are in hiding because "it’s not safe to go to stay with our family."
