Foreign Embassies Stay Put Despite N. Korea's Warning

Staff at foreign embassies in North Korea have not left the area despite a warning from Pyongyang recommending diplomats leave due to high tensions after weeks of heated exchanges, according to NBC News. North Korean authorities told diplomats their safety was not guaranteed after announcing that conflict was inevitable amid joint U.S.-South Korea troop exercises that are scheduled to last until the end of the month. North Korea has issued a number of threats ever since U.N. sanctions were imposed on the country after its third nuclear weapons test in February. U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has said that North Korea currently has nuclear and missile-launch capability.
