Team Blake
Liz Davis and Nicole Johnson are the first singers to battle and Blake decides to have the duo sing "Baggage Claim," his wife Miranda Lambert's hit song. News from around the country and around the globe
The Maroon 5 singer decides to pit 17-year-old Alessandra Guercio against fellow 17-year-old Kayla Nevarez because he believes they can connect on Katy Perry's "Wide Awake." After their performance, Blake says, "Damn Adam, this is a sucky one for ya." Christina agrees, but Cee Lo says Alessandra should move forward. Adam admits he was "a bit sad" over Alessandra's lack of confidence and reminds Kayla to be "humble." So who does he keep? Kayla!
28-year-old Michelle Brooks-Thompson and 15-year-old Adanna Duru battled on Beyonc's "Crazy in Love," and though Adam commended the younger performer on her vocals, he advanced Michelle to the knockout round.
And the official cohost of "The X Factor" is...
Team Christina
Though Alessandra was booted off of Team Adam, Christina decides to steal her as she believes the trained singer deserves the opportunity to prove she has another side to her, comparing it to her own experience on The Mickey Mouse Club. "Let's work on that confidence thing," she tells a crying Alessandra. "That was so cool," Blake says of Christina's steal. Later, Christina pitted duo Beat Frequency against Laura Vivas on Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" and chooses Latin pop singer Laura as the winner.
Team Cee Lo
In a quickie battle, pop singer Ben Taub and soulful artist Mycle Wastman battled each other and the "Forget You" singer decides to keep Mycle.
Country artist Emily Earle and 19-year-old guitarist MacKenzie Bourg are the final performers of the night and they are tackling Owl City's "Good Night." Adam says the energy was "a little uncomfortable," and picks Emily as the winner. Blake compliments MacKenzie's "strong voice," but tells him to stop doing the breaks. He gives the edge to Emily as well; Christina picks Emily as the winner. In the end, Cee Lo decides to keep MacKenzie in the competition.
