Time Inc, the publisher behind such titles as Time, People, and Sports Illustrated, is planning to make all 21 of its titles available on tablets by the end of the year, making it the first major publisher to do so.
While its top four magazines already have tablet versions — People, Sports Illustrated, Fortune and Time — none of the others are yet available. But everything from Real Simple to Entertainment Weekly will be getting the tablet treatment in the coming months.
It shows how seriously publishers are taking the tablet. While Time Inc has 28 million print subscribers across all its properties, the number of tablet downloads is slowly increasing. It'll be interesting to see the differences in treatments between all of its disparate titles as they're released over the coming months.
