A Couple That Robs Together Stays Together

Two arrested on suspicion of robbing a Bank of America branch in Agoura Hills

A husband and wife like to do everything together. Including robbing banks. The duo is behind bars in Calabasas Tuesday morning on suspicion of robbing a Bank of America branch in Agoura Hills, sheriff's officials said.

The robbery occurred Monday morning at the Bank of America at 5667 Kanan Road, Lt. Scott Chew of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Malibu/Lost Hills Station told the Daily News.

Witnesses reported a "lone male" robbed the bank and was seen running into an apartment complex at Kanan Road and Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Officers located the suspect just before he barricaded himself in his apartment, Chew said in the Daily News.

SWAT team and crisis negotiators were summoned and the suspect later surrendered, Chew said.

Jerry Carr, 49, was arrested on suspicion of felony bank robbery, and his wife, Belinda Jesse, 48, was arrested on suspicion of a misdemeanor accessory charge, the Daily News reported.

Carr's bail was set at $100,000. Both remained locked up early Tuesday at the Malibu/Lost Hills Station in Calabasas, Hill said.
