A parolee is back behind bars this morning after an overnight SWAT standoff in Whittier.
Deputies received a call at around 7:30 p.m. that an ex-convict had a gun at his apartment in the 11900 block of Inez Street, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
When they arrived on the scene the man allegedly refused to surrender, and they had to evacuate the apartment complex as the standoff began.
Just before 1 a.m. Friday Sheriffs Special Enforcement Bureau teams fired tear gas into the apartment and arrested the man, who is yet to be identified.
No injuries were reported in the arrest.
