A car crashed into a power pole in Malibu on Monday, downing some lines and prompting the closure of part of Pacific Coast Highway for nearly two hours as a precaution, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 8:10 a.m. at Big Rock Drive, according to the sheriff's Malibu/Lost Hills Station. The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of an unspecified injury.
PCH was closed between Big Rock Drive and Topanga Canyon Boulevard while crews worked to repair the power pole and lines. One lane was reopened in each direction about 10 a.m., according to the city of Malibu.
