Police Release Name of Suspect Caught on Video Vandalizing Sikh Temple in Los Feliz

Police on Monday released the name of an at-large suspect allegedly caught on video vandalizing a Sikh Temple in Los Feliz.

The suspect -- identified as 27-year-old Artyom Manukyan -- allegedly wrote a rambling message on Aug. 31 on a wall outside the Hollywood Sikh Temple at 1966 N. Vermont Ave., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Manukyan, who has lived with family in the Glendale and Los Feliz areas, also allegedly threatened to slit the throat of the person who recorded the video, police said.

"The direct mentioning of the Sikh community and the derogatory terms, combined with him threatening to slit someone's throat, I think obviously makes him a serious suspect that we've got to take of the streets,'' LAPD Capt. Bob Long said at an afternoon news conference.

Anyone with information regarding Manukyan's whereabouts was urged to call (877) LAPD-24-7. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222-TIPS.
