Two Suspected Car Thieves Arrested at Pacoima's Whiteman Airport: Police

Two suspected car thieves were arrested at Whiteman Airport in Pacoima on Thursday morning after a lengthy search that included police dogs, police said.

The suspects were booked on charges of stealing a vehicle, officials with the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The alleged theft took place about 9:20 p.m. at Glenoaks Boulevard and Osborne Street, police said. The vehicle's driver had led officers in a 15-minute pursuit before bailing from the car.

Officers with police dogs set up a perimeter around the airport as they searched around the hangars and dumpsters. The search took about five hours.

The second suspected thief was found in the last location he had been seen in, police said.
