The Fred Jordan Mission is billing its Thanksgiving Banquet & Birthday as its "biggest and best," with a ton of turkey to be served, along with 525 pounds of stuffing, 500 pounds of mashed potatoes, 80 gallons of gravy, 400 pounds of corn, 500 pounds of candied yams, and hundreds of pumpkin, apple and pecan pies.

The thousands of homeless and working poor diners will also receive gift bags with socks, blankets, snack and food bags and hygiene kits.

The Midnight Mission will serve Thanksgiving brunch to nearly 2,500 homeless and near-homeless men, women and children, according to Georgia Berkovich, its director of public affairs.

Volunteer servers are expected to include Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva and actor Mr. T.

The nonprofit organization People Assisting the Homeless will hold its eighth annual Thanksgiving Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pink Taco in West Hollywood.

The Laugh Factory in Hollywood will host its 39th annual free Thanksgiving Feasts with comics performing following each meal.

The club served 2,500 people last Thanksgiving and "is preparing for even more'' Thursday, Laugh Factory founder and CEO Jamie Masada said.
