Residents were evacuated as authorities investigated a suspicious package at a bus stop in Long Beach on Sunday, officials said.
The item was rendered safe and no explosive were found, Long Beach police said.
Officers were dispatched to the area near Atlantic Avenue and 45th Street just after 12:20 p.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department.
A bomb squad and fire crews were at the scene.
Residents were evacuated as a precaution, police said.
Atlantic Avenue was closed to traffic between Del Amo Boulevard and San Antonio Drive, but was to reopen shortly after the area was cleared, police said.
Police would not comment on what the item was that caused the commotion.
