Vandal Smashed Windows of Over 20 Vehicles in Koreatown

A man was arrested Monday for allegedly smashing windows of more than 20 cars in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles, authorities said.

It happened at about 9:15 p.m. at Third and Berendo streets, said Sgt. F. Carrillo of the Los Angeles Police Department's Olympic Station.

"He was walking down the street and smashing the windshields of over 20 vehicles," Carrillo said.

Witnesses called 911 and reported a man wielding an object that looked like a hand saw, he said. Arriving officers observed the man "continuously smashing vehicle windows," Carrillo said.

Officers arrested 32-year-old William Michael Ramirez on suspicion of felony vandalism, authorities said.
