Teen Arrested in Social Media Threat at South Pasadena High School

A 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody Friday in connection with a social media threat that prompted a lockdown at South Pasadena High School, police said.

Officers went to the campus at 1401 Fremont Ave. after the threat became known, according to the South Pasadena Police Department. Late Friday morning, police reported that a suspect was being held, but other details were not immediately released.

The suspect, identified only as a 17-year-old boy, turned himself in at a police station.

The threat involved a Snapchat photo that indicated there would be a shooting at the school, according to police.
