Dissenting Judge Calls Angels' Name “Oxymoronic Monstrosity”

An appeals court, in a 2-1 ruling, upheld the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim team name change, which the presiding justice, in a dissenting opinion, called an "oxymoronic monstrosity."

Justices Kathleen O'Leary and Richard Aronson, writing the majority opinion released late Friday by the Fourth District Court of Appeal, determined that Angels owner Arte Moreno did not breach a contract with the city by changing the team name from Anaheim Angels to Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
