It was unclear how many residents were evacuated, but they were allowed to return home later Thursday morning.
Residents in the apartments above the business said they felt the building shake.
"I was sitting in my living room and all of a sudden the whole building shook and I heard a huge crash," a resident said. "Then we came running outside to find the car inside the building."
