Orange County Sheriff's deputies say they've done all they can to find out who stabbed Jonathan Ramirez. Friends dropped him off at West Anaheim Medical Center over a month ago, but witnesses are scarce.
Surveillance cameras captured two men pulling up to the emergency room in what authorities believe is a dark Nissan Sentra at 8:40 p.m. on March 22.
They reached into the back seat and carried out a man who appears to be limp. Detectives said 19-year-old Jonathan Ramirez of Garden Grove had been stabbed at least once.
"We don't know for sure he was alive at that point, but they're bringing him into the hospital with a stab wound," Sheriff's Lt. Lane Lagaret said.
Ramirez died at the hospital. Deputies released a photo of him a short while ago. They are investigating his possible connection to any local gangs.
Authorities said they are frustrated because a man in a black cap stayed behind but refused to explain anything about the stabbing, where it took place or who might be responsible.
Police have talked to both men who dropped off Ramirez. Both men were friends of Ramirez and apparently not connected to the slaying, officials said.
