Woman, Dog Found Dead at Senior Living Apartment in Pomona

A woman in her late 50s was found dead Monday along with her small dog in an apartment at a senior living facility in Pomona.

The woman, Ronny Wall, was found just before 6 a.m. in what police are calling a suspicious death investigation.

The investigation was taking place in a third-floor unit at Serenity Villas apartments for seniors.

Neighbors said a sprinker alarm went off at around 4 a.m. and firefighters responded to the senior living community two hours later.

"We never see her with a man," said neighbor Rory Santillan, "all of a sudden she drives up, there's a man getting off with her and I don't know what happened after that."

At around 7 p.m. Monday night and after hours of being on scene, police say the sprinkler system went off because of a fire in the apartment.

It remains unconfirmed whether the fire was intentionally set to cover up the woman's death.

Police continue to investigate the situation and are in the process of notifying the woman's family.
