Woman Found Dead Inside Tustin Apartment

Relatives of the woman have said that the man who called the police was her husband and that the couple has two children together.

A woman was found dead in a Tustin apartment and a man who said he "hurt" her was being questioned Thursday, police said.

Relatives of the woman have said that the man who called the police was her husband and that the couple has two children together.

The man called police at 9:30 a.m. and said he had hurt the woman in an apartment complex on the 15700 block of Tustin Village Way, according to Tustin police Lt. Bob Wright. They both appear to be in their early 30s, Wright said.

"As (officers) walked up to the apartment, he comes out and he has minor injuries to the arms," Wright said.

"We go inside and find this female deceased inside the apartment. He was taken to a hospital and is a person of interest in the investigation. We don't know the cause of death at this point."

Wright said the man was "very despondent" at the scene and didn't offer any restistance. "He has been very cooperative so far," Wright said.

Veronica Deleon, a neighborhood resident, said that she had never seen the couple fight. "I've seen them with the kids before, but that's about it, she said.

"Investigators were questioning other residents of the apartment, though they did not expect anyone else to be involved in the incident, he said.

Neighbor Redrena Washington commented on the man's wounds. "He had injuries on his arm, so maybe self-inflicted," she said.
