Woman Killed in Huntington Beach Hit-and-Run Crash

A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Huntington Beach.

The victim's body was reported in the roadway at Seapoint and Palm avenues around 12:40 a.m., said Huntington Beach police Lt. David Dereszynski. The woman died at the scene, Dereszynski said.

The woman is believed to be between 30 to 50 years old. Investigators said there were no witnesses at the time of the crash and no nearby surveillance footage to offer clues as to who could have hit the victim.

There was no suspect or vehicle information available.

"It's always smart just to slow down and constantly be looking for people who might be entering the roadway or who are already in the roadway," Officer Angela Bennet of the Huntington Beach Police Department said.

The intersection was closed for the investigation.
