$5K Reward to Find Jewelry Thieves

In May, someone stole half a million dollars’ worth of jewelry and credit cards from a home in Cheviot Hills

A woman in Cheviot Hills is offering a $5,000 reward for anyone who can identify the people who stole her lifetime worth of jewelry earlier this year.

On May 12, two people entered the victim's Cheviot Hills house by prying open the French doors in the back and stealing $500,000 in jewelry and credit cards, Los Angeles police said.

A man later tried to use the stolen credit cards at two places in Orange County. He was seen in surveillance video and was described as white or Latino, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 150 pounds and having dark hair and facial hair, police said.

Authorities had no description of the second burglar.

The victim is offering the reward because she wants justice.

"This is a quite organized group of people," she told NBC4. "Please identify (them)."

Anyone with information about the burglars can call LAPD detectives at 310-444-1522.
