Daughtry is at the Grammy Museum on Tuesday, Sept. 14.

What if every concert could have a bit of the band-based chitchat?

We're not talking about the moment when the lead singer shouts a bit too loudly into the mic "Hey Denver, delicious waffles, woooooo" (the crowd then cheers back, feeling local waffle-based pride). We're talking honest Q&Aing about the music, followed by the music.

That's the M.O. at the Grammy Museum, at least when there is an American Express Presents An Evening With night. The next one is on Tuesday, Sept. 14, and the talking/rocking band will be Daughtry.

Daughtry has the "American Idol" cred, of course, but there've been more hits after Chris Daughtry sang his way through season five. Do you want to ask the group about the genesis of "It's Not Over"? You may get your chance.

And, upcoming at the Grammy Museum: Buddy Guy on Thursday, Sept. 16 and proggy master Alan Parsons on Wednesday, Sept. 29. He worked with the Beatles. Oh yes he did. On "Abbey Road" and "Let It Be." Nice addition for any resumé.
