Mindful Awareness, Museum-Style

The Hammer is making Thursdays more centered.

No doubt about it, the Hammer Museum hops from time to time.

Take the Westwood institution's famous "Hammer Bash!" nights. We mean, there's an exclamation point in the very name. Which translates into hot music, good art-looking, a cash bar, and late hours.

Janet Klein and Her Parlor Boys will be there on Thursday, February 4th, to celebrate the R. Crumb exhibit.

But the Hammer can chill, too, as it is doing every Thursday at 12:30PM. That's the time for Mindful Awareness, a free meditative session led by the Director of the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Director and a professor in mindfulness work.

"Reduce stress" is one of the aims of the session. We can all get on board with that.

The Mindful Awareness lunchtimes are set to last through spring at the Hammer.
