Every shutterbug, upon visiting a highly visual location, shares the same thought at one time or another: If only I could set up my gear, here, and snap away for a good uninterrupted 20 minutes.

And more and more, it seems, those highly snapshot-able locations are letting photographers do just that. The Aquarium of the Pacifichas opened to camera-wielders in the past; and on Friday, March 11, Santa Anita Park is holding a Photographer's Day.

Photographer's Day at the historic track is opened to both "professional and novice photographers"; the $20 fee will include breakfast and parking and the day out.

So, what's on the schedule? A chance to click away while the ponies go through their "early morning training regimen." A visit to the winner's circle will happen later in the day, as well as a chitchat with people who regularly photograph the track and the people who ride there.

We can only imagine that there are many people around town who love horses and photography above all else, and we can only imagine this has been a day they've much anticipated. Get the full itinerary and details on registration.
