The close-down and wrap-up of summer, specifically the summer season that traditionally ends around Labor Day, has long provided emotional fodor for songs, cinema, and stories.
Basically? No one wants to see summertime wisp away, taking with it lazier days and crazier ways (at least in our daydreams).
Even if you don't feel the seasonal change coming, you can see that particular summertime sparkle dimming a bit as three highly popular SoCal happenings enter their last days.
Happenings, we'll add, that possess summer's sweet zing, and a sense of the fantastical, and all of the whimsy that the warmest time of year so often represents.
Need to see these? The time is now.
"The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited" has seen many, many Muppet mavens passing through the galleries of the Skirball Cultural Center this summer, but, alas: The Count has counted up to the final days of the show, which will enjoy its final day on Sept 2.

Note that the Skirball is expecting very high attendance before the exhibit closes, so arrive early.
Jurassic Park — The Ride may be shuttering at Universal Studios Hollywood, to make way for a fresh 'n fierce ride based upon the "Jurassic World," but there's still time to go down, down, down the big drop. The attraction rawrs away after Monday, Sept. 3 (the "Jurassic World" ride will open in 2019).
Will you be able to break the "most times in a day" record on the watery ride, like this couple did earlier in August? Goodness, you better start soon if you're going to try.
The lamp is switching off and the ball is bouncing away at Pixar Fest, which has been a sunshiny staple at Disneyland Resort all summer long. Be not blue, Pixar people, for so much Pixar shall remain, including The Incredicoaster, Toy Story Mania, and countless details hailing from the iconic Pixarverse.
But the Pixar-themed treats and Pixar Play Parade and other festival-related goings-on are going away after Monday, Sept. 3. So saddle up Bullseye, or tie some balloons to your house, and make for Anaheim now.
