Disney Hall, L.A.'s Eiffel Tower?

LA Flâneur is a new blog over at True/Slant about examining a transforming Los Angeles. In his introduction, writer Matthew Fleischer compares modern LA to nineteenth century Paris, when the city's slums were turned into "grand boulevards, parks and arcades" and "Philosophers like Baudelaire found inspiration in observing how the masses interacted with these new spaces — how the use of space impacted culture." He asks, "Will we become Paris, or will the entire city of Los Angeles be converted into a giant shopping mall (next to a bus stop)? It’s up in the air right now." [LA Flâneur]
