Now that Measure R has passed, LA Times reporter Steve Hymon looks at what's next: While any completion of the project is years off, "early work is likely to include an extension of the Expo Line from Culver City to Santa Monica, an extension of the Gold Line from Pasadena to Azusa and placement of a busway or light-rail line along Crenshaw Boulevard in South Los Angeles, planners say." Additionally, while Mayor Villaraigosa's push for the subway could help his bid for re-election next year, "it appears doubtful that Villaraigosa will be in Los Angeles long enough to see the project completed, and maybe not even started."
