Many people, inspired by rainbows and rays of sun, are thinking of doing something outside today, which feels a bit of a novel concept. We don't think anyone is going to bikini-up and head down to the beach -- although there will be a few intrepid bikini-loving souls, and thank goodness -- but the rest of us can probably find a park.
Or a garden. We got to thinking about the Huntington, and all the relatives who are now in town, and how it is nearly a scientific fact that visiting relatives adore the San Marino gardens and library. Then, lo and behold, we got word that calendars and holiday frippery have now gone on sale at the Huntington's rather wonderful bookstore, meaning that two goals can be check off for today: be outside and get the last of the shopping done.
Oh, the discount is 50%, which is pretty serious, as far as sale prices go.
The gardens are a ticketed admission, of course, but you can visit the bookstore gratis. Please note the Huntington will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25, but the sale will continue after those dates.
