Quaint Street Throws Bash; Shoppers Browse, Graze

The West 3rd Street Holiday Party, taking place on Thursday, December 4, has several festive things to recommend it. The stroll-able stretch between La Cienega and Fairfax sports a diverse array stores selling everything from trendy togs to edible gifts; we are exceedingly fond of both The Cook's Library and Flight 001 (the cheeky luggage tags make really good stocking stuffers).

The area is also close to The Grove, Farmers Market, the museums, the Bev Connection and Bev Center. Park once -- which can be tricky, so read the signs -- and walk everywhere (there are also valet options; check the official site). And the discounts during the big event? Even Scrooge would smile.

In short, 3rd is first in our hearts any day of the year, but during its Holiday Party, we always pay a visit to the Mid City-close street. Maybe it was the year AOC gave away samples of its bacon-wrapped dates (the most luscious salty/sweet combo in LA, maybe the U.S. and probably the planet). We don't see the acclaimed restaurant on the flier this year, but be assured that the other eateries along the route will be whipping up something yummy and easy to nosh on while hoofing it through various stores. When a flier says "refreshments" we instantly feel refreshed.
