Brew at the LA Zoo: Ever quaffed a craft brew that was designed by a bear? And not just any bear, but Ranger, a beloved black bear living at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens? Symphony at the OC Fair: Speaking of music and animals and sheer sweetness, consider swinging by Centennial Farm, at the OC Fair & Event Center, on Saturday, Aug. 4 at 1 o'clock, if you'd like to see brass musicians from the Pacific Symphony play for the goats, piglets, cows, and sheep. Your fair admission gets you into this one-of-a-kind, heart-tugging symphony, oh yeah. Also happening this weekend, and also with animals to admire? There's the awesome Ventura County Fair, and, up the 101 a spell, Old Spanish Days in Santa Barbara, an excellent fiesta famed for beautiful horses, as well as great dance, mercados, parades, and history.
