A man was struck and killed in a traffic lane of the northbound 101 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles early Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
A woman called the CHP at 4:24 a.m. to say the pedestrian had run in lanes, according to a CHP statement. He was described as a man about 50 years old.
All northbound lanes of the Hollywood Freeway were shut down at Alameda Street, and LA police were called to assist in directing traffic on city streets around the closure, the CHP said. The road reopened at about 6 a.m.
