Remember when "ET: The Extraterrestrial" came out and you told everyone you totally knew Drew Barrymore and you were like best friends and you were probably going to get invited to her next birthday?
Well, dreams do have a way of showing up again. Ms. Barrymore has been announced as the surprise guest at the Cinefamily's all-girl pajama party on Saturday, July 24. The Golden Globe winner will be introducing the first film, "Foxes" (yes! Cherie Currie of the Runaways is in it, in addition to another "yes!"-getter, Jodie Foster).
The second film on the double bill is "Valley Girl." Which we all need to have watched at least three times.
We don't know if Ms. Barrymore intends to show in her favorite flannels, like the rest of the audience, but we hope. Maybe there will be some hair-braiding, too? And calling of crushes? Oh, right. The crushes can see our phone numbers now. That's different from the era when "ET" ruled and crush-calling could be stealth.
It's all happening at Silent Movie on Saturday, July 24 at 7:30 p.m. Cinefamily says there are "some tickets" left. They'll go, go like a girl who phones her mom in the middle of the night to come pick her up from the party because she's feeling homesick.
