The Dodgers powered past the Rockies on Wednesday in a 10-8 victory, but they may have lost Yasiel Puig for a few days.
Zach Greinke had another tough outing, lasting just five innings with seven walks, and six hits for five runs. The Dodgers scored enough runs to give him the win, his sixth of the season.
Greinke gave up a solo homer to Carlos Gonzalez in the first, his sixth in as many starts.
Then in the second the wheels started to come off with four walks, two doubles and three runs to put the Dodgers in the hole 3-1. Greinke gave up another run in the fifth, but the Dodgers scored enough to keep him in the game and get him the win.
Zach Greinke has two consecutive wins, despite giving up 18 hits, and eight walks for nine earned runs in 12 innings.
The Dodger had 17 hits and 10 runs with four homers from Adrian Gonzalez, Juan Uribe, Hanley Ramirez, and Matt Kemp. Every Dodger starter got a hit.
Puig scored the first run of the game on an exciting play. Adrian Gonzalez lined a one-hopper to first baseman, Todd Helton, who bobbled the ball but still routinely got the out at first base.
During the play Puig sprinted around third base and scored. He could have been caught for the out, but the factor of surprise and the speed he brings forced a rushed throw that went past the catcher.
As exciting as it was to watch the Dodgers score 10 runs for their 10th win in 11 games, there was still anticipation swirling around Yasiel Puig. He ran into the wall on a fly ball and was eventually taken out of the game with a hip injury. He is listed as day-to-day since his X-rays came back negative.
Also notable is that Hanley Ramirez went 4-5 on the night with three runs scored and a home run, he is now 27-54 with 16 runs scored, 16 RBI, and six home runs during his current 14-game hitting streak.
On Thursday, the Dodgers look to sweep the Rockies with Chris Capuano facing Jhoulys Chacin.
