The home of former Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott was burglarized in Hermosa Beach with Scott's loss put at around $200,000, Hermosa Beach police said Saturday.
The burglary at the two-story home, dubbed Villa Hermosa, happened sometime Friday or early Saturday morning when Scott was away, Hermosa Beach police Sgt. Robert Higgins said.
Police responded to the location about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. It appeared the burglar gained entry by pushing through a patio door, Higgins said.
Scott estimated his loss in jewelry, purses, watches and cash at around $200,000, Higgins said.
Police have no suspects so far.
Scott bought the four-bedroom, 3,300-square-foot home for $1.79 million in 2015. It sits about four blocks from the beach, according to media reports.
A string of burglaries have been reported in recent months targeting celebrities in the Hollywood and Beverly Hills area, including Alanis Morissette, Nicki Minaj, Emmy Rossum, Jaime Pressly, David Spade, Yasiel Puig and Derek Fisher.
