Caught on Camera: Thief Steals Locker Room Items When Football Team Practices

The president of the school told NBC4 that the theft happened during football practice.

Police have released surveillance video of a thief who stolen cash, a laptop and other items from a high school locker room as athletes were on the practice field.

The man entered Cathedral High School on the 1200 block of Bishops Road around 5 p.m. Tuesday and was seen on surveillance video entering the men’s locker room and removing a laptop, iPhones, iPads and money that belonged to the school and the students, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Students returned to the locker room after practice to find their items missing.

"It was like one person after another -- my phone's missing, my iPad's missing, my wallet's missing," said student Jaylen Washington. "I actually saw him standing next to the gate."

The president of the school told NBC4 that approximately 15 iPads were stolen. The students' textbook material and other study items were loaded on the iPads.

The students whose items were stolen said they did not have locks on the lockers.

The man has been described as 25 to 30 years old with a fauxhawk haircut with designs on the side. The man had a black beard and was seen wearing a grey cut off shirt, green shorts and black and white shoes.
