Caught on Camera: HS Baseball Players Allegedly Attack Student

In the video, several Valencia High School students who were identified as JV baseball players can be seen punching, choking and chasing a student who appears to be trying to get away.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation after JV baseball players from Valencia High School were allegedly seen attacking a fellow student in a video posted on social media.

In the video, several Valencia High School students who were identified as JV baseball players can be seen punching, choking and chasing a student who appears to be trying to get away.

"I don't think they deserve to be on the team anymore," a friend of the victim told NBC4.

More than 1,600 people have signed an online petition asking that the students involved in the assault be removed from the baseball team. Students said the attackers in the video have been suspended, but only after the online petition started.

"It seemed like they were really sweeping it under the rug kind of and they were putting the baseball kids word over ours," a friend of the victim said.

NBC4’s Gadi Schwartz reached out to the baseball coach about the allegations and the video, but was referred to the district spokesperson.

"A lot of students and community members are upset about this but we just want everybody to also think clearly," William S. Hart Union School District spokesperson Gail Pinsker said. "We ask the community to trust the judgment of law enforcement and school officials in the discipline that will be issued."

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation into the alleged incident, but as of Thursday morning, no charges had been filed.
