The men are accused of sharing hundreds of photos and videos of children as young as 1 engaged in sexual acts with adults. Angie Crouch reports from Monterey Park for the NBC4 News at 5p.m. on Oct. 25, 2013.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies arrested four men in a crackdown on child porn in Southern California, authorities said.

The crackdown took place over two days with search warrants served at numerous locations from Palmdale to Whittier.

The men are accused of sharing hundreds of photos and videos of children as young as 1 engaged in sexual acts with adults.

“It’s awful stuff seeing children raped and others using that as entertainment,” said Detective John Howard, with the LA County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspects were identified as Rolando Garcia, 19, of South Los Angeles; Mario Aburto, 43, of West Covina; Jon Johnson, 72, of Fullerton; and Gregory MacClean, 52, of Palmdale.

The men did not know each other - but were busted after using legitimate file sharing programs for illegal purposes, officials said.

Investigators posed undercover to access the files - then traced the computers to identify the Internet users.

“It’s not anonymous - everyone who uses the internet can be identified one way or another,” Howard said.
