A wildfire burns in the hills just north of Glendora causing authorities to call for the evacuation of many homes.
Firefighters are racing to battle a brush fire in the Angeles National Forest which has engulfed 1,700-acres and destroyed at least five homes.

Mandatory evacuations had been ordered for Easley Canyon, San Gabriel Canyon Road, Mountain Cove Community, west of Glendora Boulevard, East of Azusa Avenue, and North of Sierra Madre Boulevard.
As of 7 p.m., all residents ordered out of Glendora were allowed to return to their homes. Highway 30 remained closed, according to the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management.
