A woman has been convicted of killing her 90-year-old father and hiding his body in the backyard of their Bellflower home.
A Los Angeles County Superior Court jury deliberated for three days before finding 62-year-old guilty of second-degree murder for the death of Ralph Stofleth.
The World War II veteran was believed to be have been killed sometime between Feb. 1-8, 2008.
His remains were found partially buried near a backyard shed in May of that year after neighbors became concerned that they hadn't seen the man for three months.
Evidence presented at trial showed Copeland continued to collect her father's retirement benefits after he was killed.
Copeland faces up to 15 years to life in prison when she is sentenced on Jan. 9.
