Person of Interest Wanted in Deadly Hit-and-Run

Police released a photo Thursday night of a person of interest in a hit-and-run that killed a 19-year-old man in South Los Angeles earlier this week.

The crash happened Tuesday about 7:20 p.m. near East 105th Street and Wadsworth Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Jerry Arredondo Jr., 19, of Los Angeles, was struck by the speeding driver of a 2013 black Chevrolet Camaro. Pictured below, Arredondo died at the scene.

After colliding with the teenager, the hit-and-run driver slammed into several parked cars before abandoning the rented Camaro and was picked up by the driver of BMW which drove away from the scene, police said.

Anyone with information about the person of interest, pictured above, is urged to call South Traffic detectives Brady or Render at 323-421-2570.
