Two Adults, Two Children Found Dead After Fire in Bloomington Murder-Suicide

A man shot and killed his wife and the couple's two children Wednesday morning before turning the gun on himself in a murder-suicide at a Bloomington home, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Firefighters responded to the burning residence early Wednesday in the 17900 block of Santa Ana Avenue in Bloomington, about 55 miles east of Los Angeles. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the front of the house.

The remains of two children and a man, identified as 48-year-old Eric Gonzalez, were found inside the home, according to investigators. The woman, Karina Salinas, was found unconscious in the home and transported to a hospital, where she later died.

"We're devastated. We need to find out more," Karina's brother Manuel Salinas said.

Friends and neighbors of the family have created a memorial for the victims outside their home, adorning their yard with candles and flowers. Salinas' coworker saw the house engulfed in flames when she went to pick her up in the morning for work.

"She was my carpool buddy," Salina's coworker Jessica Contreras said. "I saw a fire and smoke; I called 911."

The fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes.
