The fire was reported around 1 a.m. in the 800 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Part of the floor in the two-story building collapsed during the fire, according to the LAFD.

Two firefighters were hospitalized with injuries after they partially fell into the basement, becoming trapped below the first floor. One firefighter suffered burns on his back and the other suffered an ankle injury, according to the LAFD.

Both were released from the hospital by midday.

According to LAFD, investigators found evidence of people frequenting the house and possibly living there. Fire officials said the home has been vacant for several months.

Neighbors said despite the fence around the property, they have seen people coming in and out of the home.
